There are Santa Days planned for area towns. On Dec. 3 there will be a Santa Day in Dunnell from 1-3 at the Community Building and there will be a Santa Day in Ceylon on December 16 from 2-4 p.m. at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill.

Sherburn/Welcome Police department is also renewing their Shop with a Cop project this year. Those who donated last year, those funds will carry over to this year. Donations are always welcome and should be sent by Dec. 1 so the dept. can determine the correct number of children and families to help. Please send donations to Welcome Fire Relief Association to enable the department to process checks properly, Thank You. Officers or firemen can also pick up your donation if you let them know about it. The children will shop with a cop to get presents for their families. They will wrap them with the help of the officers and the Welcome Fire Dept. and Temperance Lake Ridge residents at Temperance Lake Ridge. There is a plan to use the TLR bus to transport the children to Walmart on December 14 or 15 (watch for further information).
