WELCOME — Tomorrow, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day so thank you to all those who served or are serving our country. The Welcome Legion will have a Veterans Day meal by invitation on Saturday with social hour at 5 p.m. The Legion will meet on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will not meet during the winter from November to February.

Saturday there will be a Cribbage Tournament beginning at 1:15 p.m at the Welcome Legion Hall. There will be another tournament Nov. 18 in Welcome. Registration is given back 100 percent in prizes. They are planning to meet on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays until spring. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The public is welcome.

The Circle of Faith Parishes have Sunday services at Trinity in Welcome at 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran in Trimont during November. The Nov. 12 service will be a Thanksgiving service. There is no Thanksgiving Day services at any Circle of Faith parish.

St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn will have its Annual Fall Dinner 11 a.m. to 1 p.m Sunday, Nov. 12. Proceeds will be helping a Seminary Student. BBQ or Pulled Pork sandwiches and various salads and desserts for a free will donation.

Sunday there will be a Square Dance event at 6 p.m. at the Shaw home in Welcome (804 1st St.) for the Lake Promenaders and visitors are welcome. Call (507)236-0252 for further information.

There will be a Crest Lunch and Learn event 11 a.m. in Trimont at the First Lutheran Church with lunch to follow the program. These events are free to those in Martin County. A Free Will Donation is appreciated for the lunch.

Nov. 17 will be Burger Night at the Welcome Legion Hall to raise funds for the Summer Festival in Welcome. The serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. To Go orders will be available, please call in an order early. Check out their facebook post or posters around town for all the options available and prices.

Those who have Community Garden plots should have them cleaned up by now or they should clean them up as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.
