CEYLON — There will be a cribbage tournament today, Oct. 21, at the Welcome Legion Hall beginning with registration at 1:15 p.m. and play beginning at 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome to enjoy an afternoon of cribbage. They will try to have cribbage tournaments

on the second and third Saturdays of each month.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have services with communion at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 21. They have services on the first and third Saturday evenings each month. They also invite area residents to a Bible Study at 9:30a.m. each Tuesday morning at the church.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have 9 a.m. Sunday services and will collect for Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during the month of October. Other Circle of Faith parishes may join them or join the Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome for 10:30 a.m. services. Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations for worship or Bible Study.

There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the Cross Fit Gym on 10th St. in Fairmont.On Nov. 6, there will be blood drives from noon to 6 p.m. at the Regional Worship Center, just south of I-90 in Sherburn, and 12:30-5:30 p.m. at Martin Luther Jr/Sr High School in Northrop. The non-profit group, Helping Hands of Ceylon, will sponsor a free, safe and fun Halloween event for area children from 2-5 p.m. on Oct. 28, at the Ceylon Park. There will be activities, Trunk and Treat cars, taco in a bag lunch and more. Check out their Facebook post. They would welcome volunteers to decorate car trunks and pass out treats and/or donations. Oct. 28 is also the date for some adult Halloween fun which will feature Karaoke With Rob beginning 8 p.m. at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. They will have prizes for best costumes.

Harvest time is in full swing so please be extra careful when working in the fields or unloading or transporting grain. Please watch for triangular ‘Slow Moving Vehicle’ signs and vehicles turning in and out of farm driveways this fall. Let’s all have a safe harvest season.
