WELCOME -- There will be a vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. They will have over 20 vendors and a food truck will be available as well.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance group will meet 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Shaw home located at 804 West 1st Street in Welcome. Area residents are welcome to join them.

Welcome Legion will have their meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at the Welcome Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.

Larry Puhrman announced that the cribbage tournaments will begin 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Registration is paid back 100 percent in prizes. They are planning on having the tournaments the second and third Saturdays of each month until

Welcome Clean Up Day will be from 8-10 a.m. or whenever the truck is full on Oct. 21. The truck will be parked by Campbell Street near the fire hall. This is a free service to Welcome residents only. This may be a free opportunity to get rid of the items that are an
ordinance violation on your property. See a list of accepted items on Facebook and the City's website.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11, at Truman High School and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20, at the Fairmont Legion, 300 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. Upcoming events include:
• A community informational meeting concerning the referendum about a new school building for Martin County West School Districtwill be held 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24, at the Welcome Legion Hall.
• A 'Burger Night' will be held 5 p.m. Oct. 27, at the Welcome Legion Hall. This is a fundraiser for the Welcome Summer Festival.

Harvest has begun and everyone should be extra vigilant while in the fields and on the road or unloading. Watch for slow moving vehicles with orange triangle signs. Let's have a safe harvest season.
