Vendor show Saturday at RWC

SHERBURN -- There will be a CREST-sponsored Lunch & Learn beginning 11 a.m. today, Oct. 4, at the senior center in Sherburn near the city hall. The program will be about the North Shore area in Minnesota presented by Joyce Peterson with pictures of her trip.

The luncheon will be meatballs in gravy over rice, glazed carrots and an apple dessert. This is served after the free program. This is open to anyone in Martin County free. A donation for the lunch is appreciated.

There will be 'Hamburger Night' from 5-8 p.m. tonight, Oct. 4, at the Sherburn Legion. A burger with all the fixings, salad and beans are on the menu for only $10.

**

Saturday, Oct. 7, the Regional Worship Center just south of I-90 in SSherburn will have a vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a food truck available and over 20 vendors.

St. Luke's Catholic Church members are reminded that they have started their October to December schedule of Sunday services at 10:30 a.m.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be parked in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, near the city hall building. For an appointment, please call (507) 238-8500 and mention the Sherburn Clinic.

The Sherburn Legion will be having their monthly meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. All members are urged to attend.

The Community Chest fundraiser is in effect during October so send donations to Box 504, Sherburn, MN 56171 or drop off your donation at Bank Midwest in Sherburn.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the film 'Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie' this weekend, Oct. 6-8. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance group will meet 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Shaw Home in Welcome.

Martin County West athletes have scheduled meets and games this week. The cross country teams will go to the Fairmont Invitational at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 at Cedar Park. On Friday,Oct. 6, the football team will host Sleepy Eye at 7 p.m. in Sherburn. On Monday, Oct. 9, the volleyball team will host JCC at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the volleyball team will travel to Loyola in Mankato at 7 p.m.

Oct. 22 will be picture day at Trimont. The FFA is selling fruit and will have a corn drive soon. On October 19 and 20 the school will be closed for MEA observance.

Martin Luther High School in Northrop will have their fall rummage sale on Oct 19-21.

Condolences to the family of David Lyon who passed away recently. He was a fireman in the Dunnell community.

St. John Lutheran Church's youth group is selling holiday greens like wreaths and garlands. Order by Oct. 25 by contacting the youth group members, getting information in the church entry or going online to the church website. There is an item list and pictures with prices available there.

There will be a free winter wear event from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 14, by the Twelve Baskets consignment store in Fairmont. Anyone wishing to donate gently-used winter wear may drop them off at the offices of REM, COR or STEP or contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017. Those needing winter wear should come to the Twelve Baskets location in downtown Fairmont that day.

The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are selling popcorn as a fundraiser until the end of October. One-third of the proceeds stay in the local BSA group. For further information, contact Chris Firchau.

There will be Trunk and Treat events on Oct. 28 at the Ceylon Park and Oct. 29 in Welcome. Mark your calendar.
