Group looking for volunteers, donations

CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have communion services at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Sept. 16. They also have Bible Study at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday morning. St. Peter Lutheran Church will join Circle of Faith parishes for Sunday services at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome or 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran in Trimont during September. St. Paul’s in Wilbert will have a 9:30 a.m. Sunday service with communion. Area residents are welcome to join these congregations for worship and Bible study.

Condolences to the families of Amber Tucker and Lorene Knuth, former Ceylon residents, who passed away recently. They will be missed by friends and relatives in Ceylon.

Tuesday coffee hours for September continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on Sept. 19, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome. Join them for coffee, goodies and fellowship each Tuesday in September. The Coffee Lovers group in Ceylon meets 8:30-10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 2-7 p.m. Sept. 25, at St. John Vianney Church in Fairmont and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont or noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 2, at St. Paul’s UCC in Welcome. To make an appointment or get further

There will be a CREST-sponsored Lunch & Learn beginning 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a light lunch. These programs are interesting, educational and free to anyone living in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.

The non-profit group, Helping Hands of Ceylon, proudly showed the Ceylon City Council before and after pictures of the work they sponsored to remodel the bathrooms in the shelter house at the park in Ceylon. They are applying for grants for new doors and other

improvements at the shelter house. Congratulations to that group. They are planning a Halloween Trunk and Treat and taco party from 2-5 p.m. on Oct. 28, at the shelter house. Any volunteers or donations are appreciated to help Ceylon youth celebrate the Halloween event safely and have fun. Congratulations to Robert Schultze who will turn 75 years old in September. He would like to celebrate with all his friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 23, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Bob Petrowiak and Steve Lang band will play starting at 7:30 p.m. Our wish for you Bob is for many more happy birthdays.
