Ruby’s Pantry distribution on Monday

WELCOME — Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the home of president, Lois Nelson. All members are urged to attend.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the parking lot at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, just south of I-90. There are no income or residential guidelines. The cost is $25 for several boxes of groceries.

Tuesday coffee hours for September continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on Sept.19, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for a cup of coffee, goodies and great fellowship.

Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Welcome City Hall. All members are encouraged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of the meetings. To be on the regular agenda, please contact city hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 728-8740.

There will be a CREST-sponsored Lunch & Learn beginning 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with a program followed by a light lunch. This is free to anyone in Martin County. A donation for the lunch is appreciated.

Upcoming events include:

• An American Red Cross blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 2, at St. Paul’s UCC in Welcome. There will also be a blood drive that day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

• There will be a vendor show beginning 9 a.m. Oct. 7, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, with many vendors and a food truck available. For further information, contact Nancy Urban at (507) 236-6571 or go online at rwc-sherburn@outlook.com.

• There will be a community informational meeting concerning the MCW referendum starting at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, at the Welcome Legion.

• There will be a ‘Burger Night’ beginning 5 p.m. on Oct. 27, at the Welcome Legion Hall. This event is a fundraiser for the Welcome Summer Festival.

Robert “Bob” Schultze of Welcome will be 75 years old and would like to celebrate with all his friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Bob Petrowiak and Steve Lang will entertain starting at 7:30 p.m. Happy birthday, Bob Schultze.
