Fundraiser Monday at Fire Hall

TRUMAN — The MN Department of Natural Resources is waiving entrance and vehicle permit fees on Saturday, Sept. 9, at all Minnesota state parks.

Lewisville Fire Department burger bash will be held 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. Come to the fire hall to dine in or for carry-out.

Sunday is National Grandparents Day. A strong family bond lowers the risk of depression in both grandparents and grandkids. A text, phone call or card would be welcome.

Monday, Sept. 11, is Patriot Day. It is observed in the United States to commemorate the lives of those who died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished in the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93.

There will be a pork chop fundraiser from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Sept.11, at the Truman Fire Hall. Make checks payable to: Truman Fire Relief Association and in memo put Truman Ambulance. This is a dine-in or to go meal for a free will donation. All proceeds will help our local ambulance purchase a new stair chair.

Truman Active Living group will be meeting 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Truman Museum in Truman. Any interested Truman area resident is welcome to join this group.

If you would like to become an EMT, a class is being scheduled in Truman this October or November. If you have a desire to help people, please consider taking this class regardless of the community in which you live. If you are a resident of Truman or have less than a 10-minute response time, the classes are offered to you at no cost.
