Museum open Sept. 2
WELCOME — The Welcome Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion will have their membership chicken and corn feed from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight, Aug. 25. If a member has paid their membership dues the meal will be free. The public is also invited to purchase a meal of grilled chicken and sweet corn for $8. Sounds yummy.

There will be two American Red Cross blood drives today, Aug. 25, in Fairmont. The first will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion, 300 Downtown Plaza, and the second will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cross Fit gym. There will also be blood drives from Sept. 5-7 at the Best Western in Fairmont. The need for blood is urgent now so give if you are able.

Condolences to the families of Ron Swenson and “Eddie” Ekstrand of Welcome who died recently. They will be missed.

Circle of Faith parishes are reminded that Sunday service in August are scheduled for 9 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon and 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran north of Welcome. September services will be scheduled for 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont at 10:30 a.m. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

This Sunday, Aug. 27, is also the last Sundaes in the Park in Trimont with the Fett Brothers as the entertainment at 6 p.m. at Memorial Park. This is a free concert with donations for ice cream sundaes. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the music and ice cream.

The last Tuesday coffee hours for August will be held 8:30-10 a.m. on Aug. 29, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. September Tuesday coffee hours will be held 8:30-10 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship.

The Welcome Museum will have one last open hours session on the first Saturday of September which is Sept. 2nd. They will be open from 2-4 p.m. that day. The museum is closed, except for appointments, during the fall and winter. To make an appointment, contact Vicki Nelsen at (507) 236-7081.
