CEYLON -- The Martin County Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be held 4-11 p.m. today, June 24, at the Martin County Fairgrounds, Fairmont. There will be many activities. Some of the events will be a silent auction, car show, music by the Bee Kays, kid's activities and survivor laps. A pork meal will be served 5-7 p.m. and there will be a pedal pull for children, ages 4-11, beginning 6 p.m. The live auction and opening ceremony begin 7 p.m. and a butterfly release. The lighting of the lumanaries will be at dusk and the closing ceremony will be 11 p.m. with a lap of reflection. Plan to attend.
The congregation at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have services at 10 a.m. for Sunday, June 25, instead of the usual 9:30 a.m. During the summer they will have Sunday services at 10 a.m. from July 23 until labor day. They will be celebrating the 30 years of service by Pastor Reimers on July 16 and his subsequent retirement. Plan to attend.
The last Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June will be 8:30-10 a.m. June 27, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn. Tuesday coffee hours for July will be held 8:30-10 a.m. July 11-25 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Please note there will be no coffee hours on July 4th.
Speaking of July 4, the fireworks for Fairmont has been moved to Saturday evening, July 1. That is always a great fireworks display.
