Bike rodeo this Saturday

WELCOME — There will be a bike rodeo at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the high school in Sherburn and noon Saturday at the Welcome Fire Hall in Welcome. All ages can participate. There will be bike safety gift bags for participants. Parents should sign a waiver and

remain present at the bike rodeo. Participants will learn signals like stop, turn and look and other bike safety skills. They will navigate cones and should bring a bike, helmet and shoes with closed toes. The Sherburn/Welcome Police Department will sponsor this bike

rodeo.

The Welcome Legion will meet 7 p.m. Monday, June 12, at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend. The Legion Auxiliary will meet 6:30 p.m. on June 19 at Lois Nelson’s home.

Welcome Summer Festival is scheduled for July 14-16. City-wide garage/rummage sales are planned for July 13- 15 at 1 p.m. Those planning to have a garage sale should email Amanda Kleinschmidt at welcomefestival1890@gmail.com soon with your name (do you want it on the list?) and address. Please list the days and times the garage sale will be open and any items of interest. Please let her know by July 1, 2023, and the garage sale will be included on the map.

Circle of Faith parishes will have Sunday services during the month of June at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome. St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome has decided to keep the 9:30

a.m. time for their services all year instead of having summer hours. All area residents are welcome to join these churches for services.

Tuesday coffee hours in June continue 8:30-10 a.m. June 13, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. All area residents are welcome to join them for good coffee, treats and great fellowship each Tuesday.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held in June from 1-6 p.m. Monday, June 12, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn and on June 19 in Truman. St. Paul’s UCC in Welcome will have a blood drive on July 25.
