CEYLON — There is a consignment auction today, June 3, in Armstrong, Iowa. The Ceylon summer auction is July 22.

The Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 4. It is located across the street from the post office, west of the bank. It will be open the first Sunday in July and August also. Check out all the interesting items from the area, City, school and legion.

Sunday, June 4, will also be a special time at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill since they will feature Karaoke with Bob that night at 8 p.m. There will be no horse races that night.

Condolences to the families of Mary Jane Gellert (Mrs. Roland) and Elaine Fjelsrud, formerly from the Ceylon/Wilbert area and Armstrong, Iowa area. They will be missed.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June will be held 8:30-10 a.m. beginning Tuesday, June 6, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship. Remember the Coffee Lovers group in the Ceylon area that meets 8:30-10 a.m. Thursdays in the back room at Lake Belt Bar and Grill. All area men and women are welcome to join these groups.

The ladies of St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the church basement. Please note this meeting is at 1:30 p.m. not 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend. Also, please note that their July meeting will not be held.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Tuesday-Thursday, June 6-8, at Best Western in Fairmont. There will also be blood drives on June 12 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn and on June 19 in Truman. They have also scheduled one in Welcome on July 25.
