Summer reading program starts June 5

TRUMAN — It’s time to give Billeye Rabbe a big thank you for a job well done as Prairieland Solid Waste manager. She has worked 30 years with the solid waste program. Enjoy your retirement.

An open house bridal shower for Autumn Fisher will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Autumn is the bride-to-be of Jon Koester of Goldfield, Iowa, and daughter of Jared and Angie Fischer of Truman. She is registered at Amazon and Target.

The Truman swimming pool is tentatively scheduled to open 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3. If you are interested in being a lifeguard or have a water safety instructor certificate, please contact city hall at (507)776-7951.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the municipal building in Truman. All meetings are open to the public.

‘Find your Voice’ kids summer reading program at the Truman Public Library begins June 5 to August 4. They will give each kid who comes in the first week a free book of their choosing. Library hours are 1:30-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you have questions, call Theresa at (507) 776-2717.

There will be a Truman Pride meeting starting 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Truman Public School. All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday is recycling day. Be sure your recycling container is curbside by 7 a.m.

Storytime followed by a craft for kids will take place 3 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Truman Public Library, unless a special event is done that week.

MN Department of Natural Resources will waive all entrance and vehicle permit fees at MN State Parks on Saturday, June 10.

A farmer’s market will be held 8-11 a.m. June 10 and June 24 at Graf Park in Truman. Vendors can be anyone selling homemade or homegrown items of any variety such as vegetables, canned or baked goods, wood working, sewing, soap making, craft projects,

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 12:30-6:30 p.m. on June 19, at the Truman Community Building. To make an appointment, call Yvonne at (507) 776-8555, download the

American Red Cross Blood Donor App, www.redcrossblood.org, or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Fill out a Rapid Pass on the day of your appointment and shorten the registration time.
