Community update meeting tonight

SHERBURN — Tonight, May 24, and Tuesday night, May 30, there will be community update meetings about the School District building projects beginning 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at the high school in Sherburn. There will be a recording of the meeting and info on the school district website, www.martin.k12.mn.us.

Happy 90th birthday to Charles Kuntz of Sherburn on May 30. Cards will reach him at 368 120th St., Sherburn, MN 56171. Also, a happy 90th birthday to Carol Janssen from Dunnell who will have a party from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at The Still in Dunnell. Cards will

reach her at Box 188, Dunnell, MN 56127. Those are definitely milestone birthdays. Congratulations.

School athletics is winding down and subsections are left tomorrow. On Monday, May 29, there is no school since it is a Memorial Day holiday. June 2 is the last day of school and graduation is at 2 p.m. on June 4. Get information and registration forms for summer

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the new Disney release ‘The Little Mermaid’ for the next three weekends. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sundays.

This Saturday, May 27, is the last Saturday of the month and the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will have their men’s breakfast at 9 a.m.

There will be a farewell potluck meal for Pastor Jeff Culver after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, May 28, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn.

The Wednesday evening Kings Kids ministry will not meet during the summer at the Regional Worship Center. They will have an end of school year bash beginning 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at the church.

Memorial Day will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29, at the Sherburn City Park. Those who would like to help put out the flags would be appreciated. Meet at the park beginning 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 27. Help taking down the flags would also be

appreciated and that would be done at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 29. Those families that would like the retired flags from their veteran should contact the Sherburn Legion. A board with names of retired veteran flags will be displayed at the park and legion. This is a good day to remember that we who enjoy freedom know that freedom isn’t free. Thank you to all that served and are presently serving.

On Monday, May 29, the Sherburn Boy Scouts will be having a hamburger fundraiser at the park. The menu will include hamburger, beans, cookie and beverage for a suggested donation of $7.

There will be one more Tuesday coffee hour in May from 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. For the month of June, the Tuesday coffee hours will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn at the same times. Plan to attend.

There will be a baccalaureate service for MCW graduates at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held June 6-8 at the Best Western in Fairmont and from 1-6 p.m. on June 12 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. For further information or to make an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or go

fairgrounds in Fairmont.
