WELCOME -- Welcome City Council held their most recent meeting on Tuesday evening. At an earlier special meeting, the council approved the purchase of a work truck (Chevy Silverado diesel) for $57,000+.
Police Chief, Trevor Yochim, reported that Trimont Chief of Police, John Auringer, has started work there and Welcome/Sherburn Police will no longer have to do hours there on a regular basis.
He also showed the council a communication to the trailer park residents from the new manager about cleaning up the area and rules that will be enforced. He mentioned that ordinance violations in both towns have been tagged and pictures taken. If there is no clean up actionthere will be citations given. They will try to coordinate with the
Clean Up Days.
In other news, the council:
-- Accepted with gratitude some donations for the purchase of the sweeper attachment for the skid loader to clear sidewalks. The donations were: Welcome Legion Post, $1,500; Fox Lake Conservation Club, $3,500; Larry Bergemann, $500; Susan Peterson, $500; and Jason Glidden, $300.
-- Increased the salary for City Works employee, Dave Bach, by $.50 since he has passed his extra training.
-- Asked that any meal reimbursement to City employees have an itemized receipt.
The next Welcome City Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on
April 18, at Welcome City Hall.
