SHERBURN -- Today, Feb. 22, is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have a 6 p.m. service. They will have midweek Lenten services at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Regional Worship Center will have their usual
Wednesday King's Kids and adult bible study at 7 p.m. Area residents are welcome to join any church's services especially during Lent.

The film 'My Ascension,' dealing with suicide prevention and effects on families and the community, will be shown to students in grades 6-12 today, Feb. 22. Make plans to discuss this with your student.
There will be a fish fry fundraiser for the Welcome Summer Festival from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Welcome Legion. Plan to attend.
On Friday, Feb. 24, the boys basketball team will battle Alden-Conger at 7 p.m. in Sherburn.
The men's breakfast will be held 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There will also be a 'Nerf War' for children and parents from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the RWC.
The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie 'Jesus Revolution' this weekend, Feb. 24-26. The movie is about the 1960s and 1970s renewal and reconciliation and how God can do it again today. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. This film will also be shown next weekend, March 3-5.
