Truman Days volunteers sought

TRUMAN — Today, Feb. 2, is Groundhog Day. Whether he sees his shadow or not, I think we will have some winter weather in the next 6 weeks.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6. You are welcome to attend these meetings which are open to the public.

Wouldn’t it be a shame if we don’t have a Truman Days parade or activities in the park this year? Truman needs 3-4 individuals or couples to volunteer to do the organizing. There are very complete notes for guidance. Please call Truman City Hall soon at (507) 776-7951. Parade and vender units need to be booked ASAP.

Happy birthday to Barb Jones on Feb. 8. Birthday wishes can be sent to Barb at 213 N. 2nd Ave. East, Truman, MN 56088.

Truman Library is having a Valentine adult craft heart sewing activity from 2-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9. All supplies are provided. During the month of February, come into the library and fill out a heart telling why you love the library. Any age can do this to help fill the library window with hearts.

Every 2 seconds someone in the US needs blood. There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-6 p.m. on Feb. 13, at the Presbyterian Church, 240 N. St. E. in Amboy, Minn. Please call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org and enter AMBOYMN to schedule an appointment. Give blood in January and be entered to win a trip for 2 to the Super Bowl in Arizona.
