Cribbage tournaments next two Saturdays

WELCOME -- Hope you all have good luck today although it is Friday the 13th. Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 14, there will be a cribbage tournament at the Welcome Legion Hall beginning with registration at 1:15 p.m. This is open to any cribbage lover. All registration dues are paid back in prizes. There will also be a tournament on Saturday Jan. 21 at Welcome. Plan now to attend.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome reminds members that there will be an annual meeting after the service on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Welcome City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments or questions at the beginning of each meeting without reservations. To be on the regular agenda,

There will be a CREST Lunch and Learn program beginning 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with a lunch to follow. This is free to any Martin County resident. A donation to help with the lunch expense is appreciated.

Condolences to the family of Lilly Hanson who passed away last week. She will be missed.

Congratulations to Ione Nelson who will celebrate her 92nd birthday on Monday, Jan. 16. We wish many more birthdays to her. Cards will reach her at Box 413, Welcome, MN 56181.

The Old 16 Bar and Grill is planning an all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper beginning 5 p.m. on Jan. 18. Garlic bread will also be served. The cost is $10. Plan now to attend.
