Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday

CEYLON — There will be an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, in the back room at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. This is a fundraiser for the Ceylon Fire Relief Association. The cost will be a free will donation. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, syrup, scrambled eggs, ham or sausage, juice, milk or coffee. Carry-outs are available. If you’re unable to attend and would like to make a donation, please mail it to Box 201, Ceylon, MN 56121. Thank the Ceylon firefighters for all that they do.

This weekend is also the last days to recycle real Christmas trees. Drop off spots are Sherburn Nursery in Sherburn and the Fairmont City Street Shop on Margaret St. in Fairmont. Thank you to those two concerns and the Martin County Sentence to Service Program. Please do not drop off anything except trees. Condolences to Marilyn Stelter and her family on the death of her husband, Don Stelter, a long-time Ceylon area resident. He will be missed.

Ceylon City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Ceylon City Hall. There is always a time for public comments or questions at the beginning of each meeting without reservations. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the city hall at (507) 632-4653 prior to the meeting date. At this meeting, newly elected council members will be sworn in. John Gibeau-Mayor, and councilors, Wayne Walter and Lon Oelke. They were voted in last November.

Lake Belt Bar and Grill is planning on having an all-you-can-eat fish fry with sides beginning 5 p.m. on Jan. 13. The cost is only $17. Plan to attend.

The cribbage tournament in Welcome is planned for Jan. 14 and Jan. 21, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Circle the dates and plan to attend.
