Fall play Friday and Saturday

TRUMAN — Today, Nov. 17, is the word scramble challenge for adults at the Truman Library. The event begins at 2 p.m., but if the day and time doesn’t work for you, stop by tomorrow and complete the challenge.

4-H Stem learning for kids, 3rd grade and up, will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. today, Nov. 17, in the back room of the Truman Public Library. It’s FREE to include fun learning activities and free snacks. You do not have to be in 4-H to enjoy this event. It will also be held on Dec. 6, and Dec. 13. If you have questions, call Theresa at (507) 776-2717.

Truman Lions Club burger bash will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Truman Community Building.

Truman Public School fall play “Sir Saddlesore and the Dragon” will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19.

Lewisville Legion Auxiliary chicken supper will be 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lewisville Legion. Dine in or take out. Enjoy chicken, potatoes, vegetable, and salad bar.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Truman Community Building. To make an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App., visit www.redcrossblood.org, text BLOODAPP to 90999 or call Yvonne at (507) 776-8555. Fill out Rapid Pass on the day of your appointment and shorten the registration time.

Truman Church of Christ will hold its Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22.

St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold Thanksgiving worship service at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a Thanksgiving worship service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Nov. 23. You are welcome to join them.

Truman Sorority has set the date of Dec. 6th for the annual shopping spree for elementary students. The kids love buying gifts for their families, so we need a lot of men’s, women’s, and children’s presents. If families have nice, clean items they can donate, we would appreciate the help. • Truman Public School community fun night will be 4:30-8 p.m. on Dec. 1. Food, activities, book fair, bake sale, free holiday movie, pre-sale pies (baked by Mr. Nass), outdoor evergreen pots and much more.

• Craft/Vendor Holiday show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Truman Community Building. There is also a bake sale and a chili lunch.

• Trinity Lutheran Church 25th annual cookie walk will be held 8-10 a.m. on Dec. 3.

• St. Johns Antrim Lutheran Church 7th annual beef commercial meal will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, in the church basement. To go orders are available. Pre orders for whole homemade pies (apple, pecan, cherry, blueberry) can be made by calling (507) 236-7292 by Nov. 30. Your preordered pies can be picked up the day of the meal. A suggested price of $10 for pies.
