Community Chest beginning drive

SHERBURN -- There is a CREST-sponsored Lunch and Learn event beginning 11 a.m. today, Sept. 21, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will be about eagles in Southern Minnesota. The meal will be a chicken entree meal with garden vegetables, and an apple dessert. This free program is open to anyone in Martin

County. A free will donation is welcomed and appreciated for the

meal.

On Thursday Sept. 22, the cross-country teams will meet 4:30 p.m. at Loon Lake Golf Course. The volleyball teams will meet in Trimont vs. Cleveland with the varsity playing at 7 p.m. On Friday, the football team will play at home vs. Adrian at 7 p.m. in Sherburn. The volleyball teams will play Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Trimont, with the varsity playing at 7 p.m. The street construction necessitates no parking on Fifth Street in front of the high school. Thanks for your cooperation. Homecoming is scheduled Oct. 3-7 and FFA corn drive will be coming soon. Good luck to all the MCW athletes.

There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. In November there will be a blood drive at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Tuesday coffee hours for September continue from 8:30-10 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Welcome. In October the coffee hours will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn.

Condolences to the families of Valera Meyer of Sherburn, and Lois Anderson of Dunnell, who passed away last week. They will be missed.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie 'Lifemark' this weekend. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Mayo Mobile Clinic will be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on on Wednesday, Sept. 28, near Sherburn City Hall. Call the appointment number at (507) 235-8500 and mention Sherburn Clinic.

The Community Chest is beginning their drive and ask that residents mail donations to Sherburn Community Chest, Box 504, Sherburn, MN 56171 or drop off donations at Bank Midwest in Sherburn by Oct. 31.

Regional Worship Center just south of I 90 will be a busy place in October. They will have a craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 1. If interested in showing your craft or product, please contact them at (507) 764-9491. Regional Worship Center will

celebrate 100 years of Assembly of God services on Oct. 30, with a special service and meal. Special speaker scheduled is Rev. Nordyke, who was pastor there for 22 years. Plan now to attend. Congratulations.
