Lee Baarts of 3615 Cedar Creek Court filed on Thursday for the open seat of Fairmont mayor, making it a two-way race so far. Charles Pearson filed earlier in the week.
In addition to mayor, a Ward 1 and Ward 3 seat are also open.
Aug. 16 is the last day to file. Filing for council must be completed at the city clerk's office at City Hall. Candidates must pay a $5 filing fee and fill out an affidavit of candidacy. The clerk's office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
