Truman Days set for this weekend

TRUMAN — Truman Days are here. Enjoy a fun filled weekend of garage sales, a vintage tractor ride, crafts and food vendors, bingo, beanbag and grass volleyball tournaments, 5K run, Belgian waffles, softball tournament, kids paddle pull, street dance, many park activities for all ages and the grand parade at 5 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy your Dad’s Belgian Waffle breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Truman Community Building sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church. All you can eat waffles are $8 for adults, while kids, five years and under, are free. Take-outs are available. You will dine in an air-conditioned comfort.

Judi (Geistfeld) Bergen will give a presentation and book signing on her new book ‘Turmoil in Turtle Creek’ beginning 1 p.m. Saturday. This book is a sequel to her previous novel and the setting for her book takes place in the small town of Turtle Creek, Iowa. She chose Iowa as not to have her Truman readers think she is writing about them. However, you will see some familiar references to places in the area such as the chat and chew.

Truman farmers market is held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at Graf Park. If you are interested in being a vendor you are welcome. A lot of space plenty of shade and no charge to set up. If you haven’t checked this out yet, you will be amazed at the different items available.

An open house celebration to honor Joyce Ysker’s 80th birthday will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. If you are unable to attend, cards may be sent to Joyce Ysker at 202 W. 2nd St. S., Truman, MN 56088.
