Parade lineup deadline Saturday
TRUMAN — Happy 80th birthday to Lois Davis. An open house birthday party will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, at the Lewisville Legion. If you would like to send birthday wishes to her, address them to Lois Davis, 1101 N. North Ave., Fairmont, MN 56031.
Truman Days garage sale maps will be available Saturday at Casey’s. There will be 30+ sales beginning Thursday, July 22. Be sure to check out days and times.
Please remember if you were a business, fire department, politician, civic group, or class reunion that would like to be in the Truman Days parade at 5 p.m. on July 23, let Nancy Salic know by calling (507) 776-2930 or (507) 236-1314 by Saturday. This will help Nancy to get you in the parade lineup.
Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 18.
Wednesday is recycling day. Please cards curbside by 7 a.m. with all cardboard broken down, and all cans, bottles, etc. rinsed out and cleaned.
Second Harvest Heartland Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors, will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Come to Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.
Truman Days vintage tractor ride will be Friday, July 22. Lineup begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Prairieland facility, 801 E. 5th St. N. The tractors will leave Truman at 8 a.m. heading west to Waverly Lutheran Church, then down Watonwan County line and then to Antrim Lutheran Church for homemade ice cream and finally off to Truman for lunch in Graf Park for participants. Truman Farmers Market is held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at Graf Park. If you would like to be a vendor, you are welcome. A lot of space, plenty of shade and no charge to set up.
