Happy 90th birthday to Barb Shoen. Barb and her family invite family and friends to an open house to celebrate her birthday from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Truman Community Building.

Monday is the Fourth of July, so as we celebrate our nation’s independence let’s thank those who have served and sacrificed for our nation. Let’s respect one another. We won’t always agree, but we can approach our differences with open minds and willingness to listen to our fellow Americans. Have a safe and memorable Fourth of July.

Due to Monday being the 4th of July, the Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 instead.

Remember that recycling day will be Thursday due to the 4th of July holiday.
