Truman Schools offering meals to students

TRUMAN — Truman Public Schools food service is offering FREE breakfast and lunch to children, 18 and under, Monday through Friday in the school cafeteria. Breakfast will be served 8:15-8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. Please use door 7 in front of the school. No meals will be served June 30 through July 6. Please encourage your child to stay healthy with their nutritious meals.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman is holding a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 29. Enjoy 25+ salads, crackers, fresh fruit, veggie pizza, deviled eggs, egg salad and cheese sandwiches, desert bars and beverages. Enjoy all this for a cost of $8 for adults, with children, 10 and under, for $3. Carry-outs are available. Sorry, no deliveries.

University of MN Raptor Center will be at the Truman Elementary School Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29. All are welcome to learn about raptors and other birds of prey. You will see a hawk, owl, falcon, bald eagle, etc. This event is by the Martin County Library summer reading program.

Garage sales are being planned for July 21-23. If you are interested in holding a sale, please contact Linda at (507) 776-5031 or Denise at (507) 236-3902 by July 1 so that your information and location can be included on the map.

If you are a business, fire department, politician, civic group, or a class reunion, that would like to be in the Truman Days parade at 5 p.m. on July 23, you must register by July 16. Contact Nancy Salic at (507) 776-2930 or (507) 236-1314.

Heavens Table is partnering with the City of Truman to provide a monthly food box distribution. This is available to individuals or families. There is an income limit, but no one will be turned away. If you would like to sign up, or would like more information, please contact Justin at (507) 236-5015, or Patty at (507) 848-7433. Volunteers can express interest according to their schedules by calling (507) 238-5424.

• July 22-24 — Truman Days. Grand parade at 5 p.m. on July 24, with garage sales planned all three days
