Blood drives to be held next week

CEYLON– There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Monday at the Regional Worship Center just south of I-90 in Sherburn. To make an appointment or to find out where blood drives are located in the area, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Also, there will be blood drives in Fairmont from June 7-9 at the Best Western Motel and on June 20 in Truman. Blood is extremely needed now. Give the gift of life, give blood. One donation may save three lives. Do the Rapid Pass on the day of donation and speed up the registration time. Thank you for giving blood.

Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open 1-3 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month in June, July and August. The first Saturday is today, June 4. The museum is located in the rear of the old city hall building across from the post office and east of the bank with an entrance to the west side of the building. Look for the School memorial. Look for many items about the city and the area. What an interesting place to visit.

Coffee hours on Tuesdays will begin on June 14 from 8:30-10 a.m. at St. JohnÕs Lutheran Church in Sherburn. There is also a Coffee Lovers group meeting from 8:30-10 a.m. Thursdays at Legends ll in Ceylon. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and great fellowship.

Ceylon High School all-class reunion will be held June 25 at Legends ll in Ceylon. Plan now to attend. Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open at 4 p.m. on June 24, and all day on June 25.

They have souvenirs for sale and old high school class pictures that used to hang in the hall plus many other items of interest. Have a great reunion.

The ladies group at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert is reminded that their meeting on June 9 has been cancelled, as well as the meeting in July. The next meeting will be 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11.

Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have Saturday evening services at 5:30 p.m. with communion. All area residents are welcome to join them at this service and every Saturday evening.

There will be a Relay for Life to help raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society. The relay will be held 4-10 p.m. on June 25, at the Martin County Fairgrounds, Fairmont. This year there will be the full program as it has been in years past. Plan now to attend.
