Hamburger Night tonight
SHERBURN — Sherburn American Legion would like to thank those who attended the Memorial Day program and participated. Also thank you to those who helped put up and take down the Avenue of Flags at the city park. Your help is very much appreciated.
Condolences to the families of Monty Schwager and Robert (Bert) Schwager, Robert Malo and Gordon Preuss of the Sherburn area who passed away. They all will be missed.
CREST will sponsor a Lunch & Learn event beginning 11 a.m. today, June 1, at the Senior Citizens Center in Sherburn on First Street near the city hall. The topic will be about all the various farmer’s markets in the area, and the meal will consist of ham balls, potatoes, vegetable, and a dessert. These events are free to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the meal expenses.
Today is the first Wednesday in the month of June so the Sherburn Legion will have their ‘Hamburger Night’ from 5-8 p.m. tonight. A grilled hamburger, beans, and salad only costs $8.
The movie this weekend at the Sherburn Theatre will be ‘Top Gun Maverick’ held over from last weekend. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings and 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. Price is only $5 a ticket. Shop locally.
Mayo Mobile Clinic will be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8, near the city hall. Call (507) 238-8500 and ask about Sherburn appointments.
Tuesday Coffee Hours will begin 8:30-10 a.m. June 14 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. There will not be coffee hours on June 7 due to VBS at the church. Plan now to join friends and neighbors for some good coffee and great fellowship during June.
The last day of school at MCW will be tomorrow, June 2, and the girls golf team will play in the section tournament at North Links Golf Course in North Mankato. Graduation will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5. Best wishes to the seniors.
Sherburn Civic and Commerce Club (C&C) meeting is planned 6:30 p.m. June 7 at the Senior Citizens Center in Sherburn.
There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Monday, June 6, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, just south of I-90. to see if appointments are still available and to find locations of blood drives in the area, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at www. redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. There is a need for blood now and the summer is traditionally a low time for blood donations. Give the gift of life by giving blood. Every donation can help three people. Thank you for giving blood. Don’t forget to get a Rapid Pass the day you donate and speed up the registration process. Masks are now optional.
