Drive-thru communion on Sunday
WELCOME — I hope all the mothers in the area had a good Mother’s Day. The weather wasn’t very cooperative but getting together with family is all that really counts for moms.
Circle of Faith parishes may take drive-thru communion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome or Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.
Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend. The Memorial Day program, which will be held 9 a.m. on May 30, at the Legion Hall, will be discussed.
Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at Welcome City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting without reservations. To arrange for a place on the regular agenda, please
call city hall at (507) 728-8740 prior to the meeting date.
Area residents may also contact Welcome City Hall for more information or to sign up for Heaven’s Table Food Shelf which provides food distribution to individuals or families in need.
There are lots of plans for the Welcome Summer Festival in July. The festival committee has tickets for the prize drawing on the 16th of July. Lots of great prizes from local businesses. Welcome Meats would like to thank all the people that came to their grand re-opening on May 7. The support from community and area was appreciated and also to the people who helped and the FFA members that participated. Thank you to the race car drivers who participated. It was a good turnout despite the windy conditions.
Thank you to everyone who sent greetings, visited or brought food or attended the funeral of Mildred Miller from her family. The outpouring of sympathy was very much appreciated.
