CEYLON — Condolences to the family of Ted Kittleson who died last week. He was a member of the singing Kittleson family and a rural Ceylon resident. He will be missed.

The ladies group at St. Peter Lutheran Church has scheduled their May meeting for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. All members are urged to attend.

Coffee lovers group will meet 8:30-10 a.m. on Thursday in the backroom at Legends ll. All men and women in the area are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.

CREST sponsors many events to help area residents such as Lunch & Learn, pillow cleaning, caregiver support groups and more. There will be a fundraiser pancake breakfast benefit from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 920 E. 10th St. in Fairmont. The menu includes pancakes, sausage and beverage, all for a free will donation. Plan to attend tomorrow. Celebrate May and give to a good cause.

Ceylon Clean Up Day will be May 21 with curbside pick up available with a tag purchased at the city hall. Use this time to get rid of junk that may be an ordinance violation and result in a charge later. Just a reminder that May 8 is Mother’s Day. Hopefully May will usher in better weather, although I have seen several tractors out in the fields preparing ground. As planting season begins watch for slow moving vehicles on the roads.
