SHERBURN -- There will be a 'Lunch and Learn' beginning 11 a.m. today at the First Lutheran Church, 61 Apple Street E. in Trimont. The program subject will be on container gardening, and the lunch is ribs, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole and cupcakes. These free events are open to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation for the lunch is appreciated.
CREST will have a 'Spice of Life' event starting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at their office located at 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. This meeting is for patients with dementia and the caregivers. Please RSVP to CREST by calling (507) 235-3833.
A prime rib supper sponsored by the Sherburn Lions Club will be held 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Sherburn Legion Club. Tickets are available at the door or from any Lions member, at Ringnell Insurance, Amborn Lumber or Bank Midwest in Sherburn. Proceeds will help support the Lion’s community projects.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie "The Bad Guys" which is a DreamWorks production this weekend and next weekend. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Martin County West FFA will be at the State FFA Convention from April 24-26. Congratulations to the FFA members.
Martin County West athletes are busy now that spring break and senior class trips are over. Girls softball team will travel to St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The girls and boys golf teams will play 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Terrace View. On Friday, the girls golf team will play 1:30 p.m. at Janesville, and the girls track team will go to Mountain Lake at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday morning, the boys baseball and girls softball teams will have games at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the Welcome Ball Fields. And on April 25, the boys baseball and girls softball teams will be playing at 4:30 p.m. in Welcome and the boys and girls golf teams will be playing at Fox Lake Golf Course, rural Sherburn. On Tuesday, April 26, the boys baseball team will play a game at 4:30 p.m. at the Welcome Field, and the girls softball team will have a game 4:30 p.m. in Cleveland. Good luck Mavericks.
The First Congregational Church in Sherburn will feature the Many Voices Choir beginning 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at the church on Prairie Street. The concert will be followed by a Women’s Fellowship supper of homemade chicken noodle soup, homemade chili and a dessert for $8 at around 5 p.m. Their concerts are always very good. Plan to attend.
