CEYLON — There will be a cribbage tournament beginning 1:15 p.m. today at Legends II in Ceylon. This will be the last cribbage tournament in Ceylon for the spring. There is one more on March 26 at the Welcome Legion Hall. That will be the last one for spring in

Welcome. Please note the change of dates in Welcome. Watch for announcements in November for tournaments. Larry Puhrman would like to thank all the participants for the great turn out of cribbage players. He said there were sometimes 30-40 players.

There will be an all-you-can-eat pancake brunch sponsored by the Ceylon Fire Relief Association from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the back room at Legends ll in Ceylon. This will be the last one for this season. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, ham and sausage, juice, milk, and coffee. There will be a free will donation accepted, please be generous. If anyone would like to donate by mail they can send the donation to Box 201, Ceylon, MN 56121. Thank you for the donations, they will be used for purchase of equipment. Thank you to the firefighters and EMTs in the Ceylon Fire Department.

Sunday is also the date to change to Daylight Savings Time. I usually change the clock ahead one hour on Saturday night before going to bed instead of 2 a.m. on Sunday. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead so you do not miss something on Sunday.

Lenten services will be held Wednesday in area churches. Circle of Faith congregations are meeting 6:30 p.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome. The dual congregations of Our Savior’s Lutheran and St. Paul’s Lutheran will meet 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s in Wilbert, and will have a light lunch after the service. All area residents are welcome to join these congregations for their services.

Starting at $2.99/week.
