WELCOME -- The members of Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome are reminded that their Sunday services will be held at 10:30 a.m. in March. First Lutheran Church in Trimont will have their Sunday services at 9 a.m. during March. Circle of Faith congregations will have midweek Lenten services at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Sunday services at the other Circle of Faith congregations will be held 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon, and 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran in Welcome.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ will have midweek Bible Study at 6 p.m. each Wednesday. The program will also use Max Lucado’s book entitled ”He Chose the Nails” for study. Their Sunday services are at 9:30 a.m. Area residents are welcome to join any of these

congregations for Lenten services and Sunday services.

There will be a senior citizen’s noon potluck meal on Monday at the Welcome Legion Hall, with fellowship to follow. All area senior citizens are welcome, especially if their town doesn't have a senior citizen group.

The Old 16 Bar and Grill has added beef commercials to their menu on Fridays and some specials on other days. They are also beginning to have bands play live music at their building. On March 12, there will be a band called ”Fat City All Stars” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We like to see local business thrive. Good luck to the Old 16 Bar and Grill (former Korte’s building) in Welcome.

At the Welcome City Council the acquisition of body cameras for the police was discussed. The website, www.sherburnwelcomepolice.org, has the information about the cameras and it will be on this site during the month of March. Check it out if you want information

about the body cameras.

Remember, the Welcome Fire Department Relief Association benefit dance will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Welcome Legion Hall. The band will be the country favorite duet of Steve Lang and Bob Petrowiak. The Welcome Fire Department is celebrating their 125th anniversary this year. The cost of the dance is a donation of at least $5 per person. If any are able to donate more, it would be most appreciated since prices for equipment has risen dramatically lately. If anyone would like to mail in a donation, please make a check payable to Welcome Fire Relief Association and mail it to Box 373, Welcome, MN 56181. Thank you. This is a good way to thank the Welcome Fire Department for all their good service to the community.
