Lunch and Learn today

SHERBURN – There will be a Lunch and Learn event sponsored by CREST at 11 a.m. today at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. This should help get rid of the January blahs. A surprise program and a delicious soup and sandwich and dessert lunch is offered free for anyone from the Martin County area, however, donations for the lunch will be accepted.

CREST is also sponsoring a gathering for caregivers and care partners, called ’Spice of Life’ beginning 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CREST office in Fairmont. For further information or to let them know you are planning to attend, please call CREST at (507) 235-3833. There may be snowmen present and a warm winter snack.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie ‘American Underdog’ this weekend, Jan. 21-23.

Temperance Lake Ridge will offer a Memory Cafe for Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers and their families starting 3 p.m. Monday. This is free for anyone affected by dementia in their family who would like some information and support on every fourth Monday.

Martin County West School Board rescheduled their meeting this week because of the Martin Luther King holiday and will now meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the elementary school in Sherburn.

Thursday, Jan. 20, the MCW gymnastics team will travel to St. Peter for a 6 p.m. meet. The wrestling team will compete against St. Peter at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Fairmont High School building. The girls basketball team will play a game against Alden-Conger-Glenville

Emmons at 7 p.m. Thursday at Glenville-Emmons High School. The boys basketball team will travel to GHEC High School at 7 p.m. Thursday to compete against the Truman-Martin Luther-GHEC team.Friday, Jan. 21, the MCW students will compete at a Knowledge Bowl at 7 p.m. at St. Clair High School. The wrestling team will go to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 5 p.m. Friday. The girls basketball team will travel to Glenville-Emmons High School at 7 p.m. for a game. The boys basketball team will be in Trimont at 7 p.m. to battle the

Spring Grove team. On Monday, Jan. 24, the girls basketball team will have a home game against Madelia at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Sherburn High School. On Tuesday, Jan. 25, the boys basketball team will have a home game against Madelia at 7 p.m. in Trimont. The gymnastics team will compete against Waseca at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Live Fit building in Fairmont. The wrestlers will travel to Waseca for a meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Good luck to the MCW
