Lunch and Learn today

SHERBURN – There will be a Lunch & Learn event 11 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church, 61 Apple St. East in Trimont. The program will be Christmas fun and the meal will be Christmas-based also. A free will donation will be accepted for the meal. There is no charge for anyone from Martin County. The event is sponsored by CREST.

CREST also sponsors a time to have fun together with caregivers and care partners at Spice of Life events like the one from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 16, at the CREST office located at 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. Fun activities and food with friends. Relax and visit with others. There is no charge but reservations are encouraged. For questions, call the CREST office at (507) 235-3833.

Condolences to the families of Elaine Friederichs, Darrel Anderson, and Gordon Bittner, who were all former Sherburn residents. They will be missed.

The Regional Worship Center will have a special children’s Christmas service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. After the service there will be a potluck meal. On Christmas Eve, they will have a communion service at 5 p.m. Area residents are invited to join them for these services.

Ruby’s Pantry drive-through distribution of grocery items will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at the Regional Worship Center just south of I-90 in Sherburn. All this for a donation of $22. That should help stretch your Christmas budget. There are no income or

residential guidelines. All are welcome. Make sure the trunk of your car is empty. A partial list of what will be distributed will be on Facebook this Friday, Dec. 17 or Saturday, Dec. 18, at Ruby’s Pantry-RWC-Sherburn. Martin County West athletes have a busy schedule. The gymnastics team will meet Blue Earth 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, at Live Fit in Fairmont. The girls basketball team will go against Cleveland 7 p.m. Dec. 16, in Sherburn, and the boys basketball team will play the

Jaguars at 7 p.m. Dec. 16, in Trimont. The wrestling team will meet the Redwood Valley team 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Redwood Valley. The girls basketball team will travel to Nicollet for a 7 p.m. game on Friday, Dec. 17. The gymnastics team will meet the Jackson team at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Live Fit in Fairmont. The girls basketball will travel to Madelia for a 7 p.m. game on Monday, Dec. 20. The boys basketball team will travel to Mankato Loyola for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, Dec. 21. The gymnastics team will meet at Luverne at 6 p.m. on Dec. 21. Good Luck to all the MCW athletes.

Got holiday plans? Sherburn Lions Club will host a New Year’s Eve supper from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 31, at the Sherburn Legion.
