SHERBURN -- Sherburn City Council met Monday night, Aug. 16. They approved a request from St.
Luke's Catholic Church to expand their handicapped parking spots from one to three spots. Since
there was no blockage of sidewalks or entrance, the council approved their
request.
The Welcome/Sherburn Police Department requested approval to purchase about 6 body cameras
using some of the COVID funds. The cameras cost about $20,000 and each community would be
asked to pay half. Brad Hughes commented that the software is the expensive part and the
batteries need replacing periodically. The council approved purchase contingent on the approval
by the Welcome City Council.
The Fund Truck event at the park on Aug. 9 was a success. Some said there were long lines for
the food and they would make sure they have more staff next time.
A water line needed repair again and council person Ringnell suggested fixing that line from
laundromat to Main Street since it has needed repair before. He suggested fixing it before the
Highway 4 construction since it is under that road. The issue was tabled for
further information.
Since the next scheduled council meeting falls on Labor Day, the meeting will be held 5 p.m.,
Tuesday Sept. 7 instead. Please note the change of date.
