Congratulations to the Fox Lake Conservation League of rural

Sherburn who secured a revolving loan of $200,000 from Federated Rural Electric Association for

44 acres of land formerly belonging to the Alliant Power Plant on the south side of Fox Lake.

They plan to develop the area into a park for the public. This is a 10-year loan,

and as funds are repaid, FREA will loan the money to other

organizations, hence the revolving name for the loan.

Congratulations also to the park committee in Sherburn who

secured funds to purchase new park equipment for the main city park that will be handicapfriendly.

Chelsea and Lacy McNichol,

Jackie Auringer, and Kristin Wille-Schoen, were instrumental in

raising enough funds through the Schmeekle Foundation, the Martin County Area Foundation, City

of Sherburn, Bank Midwest and

Ringnell Insurance, for the purchase of the equipment that will be

installed this fall. It will be a nice addition to the park.
