There will be a Red Cross blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 214 N. Dugan St. in Welcome. To make an appointment or check out times available, you should call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Do the Rapid Pass that day and bring it to the drive to shorten the preparation time. Giving blood is safe and needed very much now. Although 38 percent of Americans are eligible to give blood, only 10 percent actually give. An average person has about 10 pints of blood and only one pint is given at a donation. Plan now to donate blood.
