Editor’s Note: The following information was obtained from various news organizations and social media posts. The Sentinel made several attempts to contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office to obtain a press release or official statement. At the time of publishing, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office has not yet responded.

According to the information gathered, at 1:30 p.m. on May 19, 2021 the Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible assault in the city of Ceylon. A female was transported from the scene to the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont and was later transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester.

The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown at this time. Several other agencies and first responders, including the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation, and further details are unknown at this time.
