Truman City Council to meet Monday

TRUMAN — St Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church will be holding Maundy Thursday services and Holy Communion at 10 a.m. today and at 7 p.m. this evening. Their Tenebrae services will be held at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday. The Easter Vigil will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening at Trinity Church, Fieldon. Easter Festival service and Holy Communion begins at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, with an 8:30 a.m. Easter breakfast to follow.

Truman Church of Christ will hold a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service with communion. Their Easter service will be 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Trinity Lutheran Church will have a 7 p.m. Good Friday service and communion. Their Easter service and Holy Communion will be held at 10 a.m. To make reservations, please call the church office at (507) 776-4781.

Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m. with the front facing the street and all cardboard placed inside.

Wednesday is also the American Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the activity room at Truman High School, 401 E. 1st St. South. Truman Public School early childhood preschool screening will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Call (507) 776-2111 or email eytchesonc@truman.k12.mn.us for more information and to set up an appointment.

Truman Public School registration for three and four year old preschoolers begins today. Truman Public preschool is open to all children, ages three through five years of age, by Sept. 1st. Most importantly, they will provide a pleasant environment that promotes your child’s growth of self-esteem and confidence in relating to others. Each session of school will run about 3 hours. Parents are asked to provide snacks on a rotating basis. The staff are professionals in early childhood development. Transportation to and from daycares in Truman (based on availability) for a small fee, call for details or to sign up. Financial scholarships are available.
