Ceylon school reunion cancelled

CEYLON — Tonight or early Sunday morning we turn our clocks ahead one hour to go on Daylight Savings Time. Don’t forget or you will be late for church or whatever you have planned for Sunday events.

Area churches are planning their midweek Lenten services. Circle of Faith parishes will meet 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will host their dual congregation, Wilbert, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no lunch or meal at these church’s Wednesday services.

Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association has scheduled an all- you- can-eat pancake breakfast/brunch from 9 a.m. to noon on March 21 at the Legends II building. The menu will include pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, coffee and juice. This will be a dine-in or drive-up fundraiser. The dive-up will be handled at the back door by the alley. If you cannot attend and would like to

make a donation, checks can be written to Ceylon Fire Department

Relief Association and mailed to Box 201, Ceylon, MN 56121.

Ceylon Community Day auction has been scheduled for April 10.

For further information contact the auctioneers: Mark Howell at

(712) 260-9690, Gary Helmers at (507) 236-2921 or Larry Howell

at (712) 260-9693. The auction will be held on private property

only (not on city property) as it was last year due to COVID protocol and restrictions. There will be a map of any rummage sales open that day. If you are planning to have a rummage sale that weekend, contact Linda Bakke at (507) 632-4509 or online at obakke@frontiernet.net (telephone contact preferred).

Due to COVID uncertainties and restrictions, the Ceylon all-school reunion will be cancelled. They hope to have the celebration of the school in June of 2022.

Ceylon Summer Festival committee also has cancelled the festival for this June and hope to continue it in 2022.
