Township elections set for Tuesday

TRUMAN — Welcome to Darren Bettin as our new part-time police officer.

Friday is recognized as the National Day of Unplugging. Limit your screen time by keeping your cellphone out of reach while eating and out of the bedroom.

Tuesday is the annual meeting and elections for townships. Nashville, Waverly and Westford will open at 4 p.m.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Truman will hold a 7 p.m. Lenten service on Wednesday.

To help young people get started as a service technician, Miller Sellner offers a tuition assistance award every year at each of their four locations. This award is in the amount of $3,000 per semester. Additionally, they provide a paid on-the-job learning experience and internship. In return, the recipient is committed to work full-time for Miller Sellner for 5000 hours after program graduation. Application deadline will be March 15. They welcome any questions you may have about this assistance program or any opportunities at Miller Sellner. Contact HR person, Kathi Gruenhagen at (507) 794-2131 or email her at KATHIG@MILLERSELLNER.COM.

If you’re a Truman resident or of the area having a birthday (70 years and older), anniversary (40 years or more), meeting, fundraiser, school event, etc. I will be glad to mention this in my Sentinel news column. My phone number is (507) 776-7091.
