CEYLON — Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, hint hint. Monday is President’s Day holiday. There will be no mail service and some businesses will be closed.

Feb. 17 is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten season. Circle of Faith congregations, which include St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, will have 6:30 p.m. Wednesday services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome each Wednesday through March 24. The services may also be live streamed at the Circle of Faith or First Lutheran Facebook pages. COVID protocol will be observed at the in-person services. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will host their dual congregation, St. Paul’s from Wilbert, for a 6:30 p.m. communion service on Ash Wednesday. The two churches will alternate Wednesday Lenten services. Feb. 24 will be hosted by St. Paul’s in Wilbert. Due to COVID protocol, there will be no cooperative lunch or fellowship time after the Lenten services.
