Sherburn council talks well project

SHERBURN — Sherburn City Council held their meeting on Jan. 19 via ZOOM. They accepted with thanks a donation from Bev Roben to the fire department.

The property at 321 North Lake Street was discussed. The administrator will contact the people necessary to bring about a conclusion.

The Temperance Lake Ridge committee and the Tealwood Management Company have discussions underway concerning the revision of the management contract. Temperance Lake Ridge has had some reduction in income of about 8.5 percent due to COVID and construction issues and delays. The City will offer a revision in their contract.

A possibility of a grant for the relocation of a trail segment of up to $100,000 from the state was discussed. The council approved the plan to begin this process.

The administrator reported on Well #4 and the bids are due Jan. 28. It may be spring before the well is finished. Sherburn has only one well now but it is only two years old. The new well will have a new pump and the old pump is being rebuilt.

Brad Hughes explained the police report as the Welcome community having directed patrols which raised the number on the report. Actually, both cities are similar in the number of hours by police.
