Take advantage of free COVID tests

WELCOME — Please have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year in 2021. Monday was the first day of winter. Did you spot the Bethlehem Star (Saturn and Jupiter) on Monday?

Condolences to the family of former Welcome resident, Richard Larson, who died last week. He will be missed.

There will be a time for free COVID-19 testing in Fairmont at the National Guard Armory during December and January. The test is free and no insurance is needed, no symptoms are needed. If you sign up for an appointment it would help to keep the waiting shorter and give plenty of room. Register online at https://www.primarybio.com/r/fairmont or call 1-855-612-0677 if you can not register online. Times are noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 28-30, then

Jan. 4-7, Jan. 13-16, Jan. 20-22, and Jan. 27-30. If you can not make it to Fairmont, go to www.health.state.mnus/diseases/coronavirus/testsites/ for further information.

Lutheran Social Services will be delivering free frozen meals at 5 p.m. on Dec. 28, at the Welcome Fire Hall. Each person may get up to 5 meals and a snack.

Candidates for township supervisors and treasurers can file for candidacy with the township clerks from Dec. 29 to Jan. 12. Galena Township should contact Deb Rabbe at 2247 90th Ave., Trimont, MN 56176. The candidate for Rolling Green Township should contact Dan Bebernes at 1544 90th St., Fairmont, MN 56031.

Both townships need a supervisor for a three-year term and a

treasurer for a two-year term.
