CEYLON — Thank you to all the residents who have put up Christmas lights. Drive around town and see all the work that has been done to help us all enjoy the holidays. Thank you to City of Ceylon for having a lighting contest. Watch for news of the winners. First place is $75, second place is $50, and third place is $25. The prize money will be credited to their utility bills.

Found a paragraph entitled lessons I learned from a Christmas tree. “Be a light in the darkness, we all fall over sometimes, you can never wear too much glitter, bring joy to others, sparkle and twinkle as often as possible, and it’s okay to be a little tilted.”

Circle of Faith parishes should call the church office for information and COVID protocols for their Christmas Eve services at (507) 728-8259. Our Savior’s Lutheran in Ceylon will have Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will not have Christmas Eve services. None of the area churches have scheduled a

service on Christmas Day.

Look in the west-southwest sky about 30 minutes after sunset on Monday, Dec. 21, for the special bright lights of Saturn and Jupiter so close it may look like one light, some call it the Bethlehem Star. This has not happened in 800 years. Maybe God knows we need something special this year. That day happens to be the first day of winter also.
