Blood Drive coming to Sherburn

CEYLON — Today is Halloween or All Saints Eve. Watch for children in costumes who may be excited and not watch for cars very well. Thank you to the residents that organized the trunk-or-treat yesterday at the park.

â-

Sunday is Nov. 1, and it’s the day we “fall back” and turn our clocks back to regular time from daylight savings time. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight or early Sunday morning. Hopefully November will be a good month.

â-

Tuesday is election day, so don’t forget to vote for the candidate of your choice. The city hall in Ceylon is open for voters from the city.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Nov. 9, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. No walk-ins are allowed so appointments should be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online to www.redcrossblood.org, or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Doing the Rapid Pass the day of donation and bringing it to the drive site is helpful in speeding up the registration time. Be prepared to social distance and wear a mask. Donating is safe since there are extra sanitization procedures done. Blood is needed, especially now, if you are well and able donate blood. Locations of blood drives in the area are available on their website also. Every donation could save three lives.
