Many loans available from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture Rural Finance Authority are now available at even lower interest rates. Minnesota Management and Budget secured favorable rates for government bonds it sold recently, allowing RFA to cut 1.75% off its already-favorable rates for five different loan categories: livestock expansion loan, agricultural improvement loan, restructure 2 loan, beginning farmer loan and seller-assisted loan. The RFA partners with local lenders to provide affordable credit to eligible farmers for a variety of activities. Find out more about the different loan programs available through the RFA by visiting its web page.

United Soldiers and Sailors of America collects Christmas cards from civilians and mails them directly to troops deployed around the world. USASOA asks that you leave card envelopes blank and do not seal them. Place all cards in a larger envelope or box and mail them to United Soldiers and Sailors of America, 700 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Suite 2104, Washington, D.C., 20003. They also ask that you include your name and return address on the exterior of the larger envelope or box in which you are mailing the Christmas cars so USASOA can send you a thank you card. That said, writing to soldiers need not be limited to the holidays. Consider joining an organization such as Soldiers’ Angels (https://soldiersangels.org) or Operations Gratitude (https://www.operationgratitude.com/express-your-thanks/write-letters) to write letters to deployed troops throughout the year.

A big thank you to all the Truman garage sale participants and craft vendors that made it a success. The women who organized these events did a fantastic job.
