Burger bash scheduled in Lewisville

Lewisville Fire Fighting Company is having a drive-and-go burger bash from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lewisville Fire Hall. They will serve hamburgers, cheeseburgers or hot dogs, potato salad or coleslaw, and chips. Orders will be placed in a to-go container. Cost is a donation, with proceeds going to help support the fire department. COVID-19 guidelines will be in place.

Sunday is National Grandparents Day. Remember those special people in your life with a card, text, phone call or even a picture you have drawn.

Senior citizens can get free food from Second Harvest Heartland and the Nutrition Assistance Program for seniors from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. Food is available to eligible seniors once per month, with eligibility based on age (60 years and older, household size and income). Seniors interested in applying may call (800)?365-0270.

Wednesday is recycling day. Place your recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m. with the front facing the street. Please have all cardboard flattened and placed in the container.

There will be crafters and food vendors Sept. 18-19 at Graf Park in Truman. Crafters will be there with afghans, quilted items, jewelry, nail art, goat soap, glass art, towels, wooden items, gnomes and more.

Visitors can enjoy kettle corn, ice cream, onion rings, lemonade and much more. COVID-19 guidelines will be in place.
