Ceylon City Council meets Tuesday

CEYLON — Monday is Labor Day. Have a fun and safe holiday. Some businesses may be closed. And don’t go to the mailbox.

Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

There is always a time for public comments/questions at the beginning of each meeting. No prior reservation is needed, unless a citizen wants to be on the regular agenda. For more information, call the city clerk at (507) 632-4653.

There are some upcoming Red Cross blood drives in the area.

First, there will be a blood drive from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn.

Next, there will be a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Sept. 17 in the back room at Legends II in Ceylon.

Also, a blood drive will be held 2-7 p.m. Sept. 21 at St. John Vianney in Fairmont.

Lastly, a blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 29 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome.

Use Rapid Pass the day of the drive to shorten the amount of time at the reception area.

The need is great and so is the reward. Blood is needed every two seconds in the nation.

The ladies LWML group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday. They will follow social distancing protocols.
